The Abu Dhabi Play Area Guide: Where to Go Based on Where You Live
Because "let's go to the play place" shouldn't require a 40-minute drive and a full tank of petrol.
Let's be honest. Finding a decent place for the kids to run wild — while you actually sit down and drink your coffee hot — is one of the quiet victories of Abu Dhabi motherhood.
Whether you're new to Abu Dhabi or just need a refresh of what's available, the city is full of options. The problem is knowing which ones are actually worth your time based on where you live. So we've done the legwork. Here's your area-by-area breakdown of the best indoor and outdoor play spots across Abu Dhabi — from boutique sensory spaces to full-blown soft play empires.

Yas Island
Little Acres Kids Club @ Yas Acres Golf & Country Club
One of our favourites for the Yas Acres community (and honestly, worth the drive from anywhere). Little Acres is a children's activity centre with indoor and outdoor play areas, arts and crafts stations, and group activities led by experienced childcare professionals. The parent bonus? Spend AED 300 or more at Roots Bar & Kitchen and two kids get in free — valid for up to two hours while you dine. Golf course views, a proper menu, and children occupied. That's a win. Ages up to 8 years.
Yas Acres Golf & Country Club | Mon–Fri 7am–7pm, Sat–Sun 8am–7pm | Check @viyagolf for current entry pricing
Leo & Loona @ Yas Mall
The big one. At 2,620 sqm with over 30 attractions across seven themed zones, the Yas Mall location is Abu Dhabi's biggest indoor play area. Glow-in-the-dark slides, pedal go-karts, princess rooms, role-play zones and character performances — the kind of place where you lose your child for a genuinely peaceful couple of hours. Ages 0–12.
1st Floor, Yas Mall | AED 159 (2 hours, weekdays), AED 249 (full day, weekends and public holidays) | Sun–Thu 10am–11pm, Fri–Sat 10am–midnight
MadCap & FunWorks @ Yas Mall
Two more solid options under the same roof. FunWorks spans two floors with rides, a huge soft play area, learning workshops, toddler playgrounds and arcade games. MadCap is higher energy — great for the kids who are done with anything calm.
Yas Mall, Yas Island
KidZania @ Yas Mall
Role-play on steroids. Over 40 activities for kids aged 2–16 — they earn their own KidZania salary, which they can spend on the way out. Older kids love the independence. Parents get a lounge while they wait.
Ground Floor, Yas Mall | Economy AED 185, Premium AED 255 (ages 4–16) | Toddlers (2–3) AED 115 | Adults AED 85 | Sun–Thu 10am–9pm, Fri–Sat 10am–10pm
Al Raha & Khalifa City
HappyNest Playhouse @ Al Raha Gardens
A hidden gem for the younger crowd. Set in Al Raha Gardens Plaza, HappyNest is a cosy 200 sqm neighbourhood-style playspace for children aged 4 months to 9 years, with a giant nest to climb, tube slide, projection area, baby ball pit, reading nook, arts & crafts room and children's kitchen. It's calm, it's curated, and it doesn't smell like feet. High praise in this industry.

SEN~SU
This one is a little bit different. SEN~SU is an open-ended play centre focused on sensory and messy play for ages 6 months to 15 years, built around natural and sustainable resources. If your kid is the type who wants to build, dig, pour and create rather than just bounce — this is them. Strongly recommend for neurodiverse families or anyone who wants less screen-stimulation, more real play.

Orange Wheels @ Khalifa City
A community staple and for good reason. Multiple levels of soft play, a climbing wall, arts section, role-play O-Town, a kids' salon and spa — and it's clean. Like, properly clean. Ages 0–10, with a dedicated under-5s area and one of the better role-play set-ups in the city.
Khalifa City | Multiple branches
BOUNCE & miniBOUNCE @ Forsan Central Mall, Khalifa City
Abu Dhabi's biggest BOUNCE venue, and the newest. 3,500 sqm of trampolines, a 36m X-Run obstacle course suspended seven metres in the air, speed slides up to 6.5m tall, dodgeball, and a BOUNCE Cafe for when the adults need to sit down and breathe. The built-in miniBOUNCE zone is what makes this one particularly useful for families with mixed ages — it's a dedicated area for under-6s with mini trampolines, a ball pit and its own mini challenge course, so little ones aren't getting mowed down by teenagers. From age 3 for the main park, 6 and under for miniBOUNCE.
1st Floor, Forsan Central Mall, Khalifa City | Prices from AED 80 | Sun–Thu 10am–10pm, Fri–Sat 10am–midnight
Al Maryah Island / City Centre
Caboodle @ The Galleria
Nature-inspired, screen-free and genuinely different from every other softplay in Abu Dhabi. Caboodle brings the outside in with grassy hills, treehouses, orchards, sandpits for archaeological digs, quiet corners and creative zones — and proudly doesn't overstimulate. There's also a children's salon, a cafe overlooking the play space, and a Drop & Shop babysitting option if you need a window to breathe. Ages 6 months–12 years.
The Galleria Al Maryah Island, Level 2 | AED 99 (12 months+, 2 hours), AED 70 (under 12 months) | Sun–Thu 10am–10pm, Fri–Sat 10am–midnight
Droplets by Caboodle
Same venue, tailored specifically for the 3–5 age group. Science experiments, music and movement, storytelling, obstacle courses and more — play-based learning that doesn't feel like learning.
The Galleria Al Maryah Island
Saadiyat Island
COCO Cafe & Playhouse
Boutique, beautiful and very Saadiyat. COCO is a Montessori-inspired family playground with a specialty coffee bar, curated workshops and celebration packages. The cafe serves light meals and brunch dishes, and the indoor playhouse sits within clear view of the tables — so you can actually see your child while you eat. Designed for under-6s.
Sunrise Residence, GR5 Building, Hidd Al Saadiyat | Mon–Thu 9am–7pm, Fri–Sun 9am–8pm | @coco_cafeandplayhouse
Louvre Abu Dhabi Children's Museum
Not a traditional play area, but don't sleep on this one. All artworks are at a child's eye level, and the space has immersive zones and educational workshops. Free for under 18s with adult museum entry. Brilliant for school-age kids who need something more than soft play.
Saadiyat Island | Free for under 18s with adult ticket | Tue–Sun 10am–6:30pm
Central Abu Dhabi / Khalifa Park Area
Sanderson's Cafe @ Al Seef
Not a play area — a cafe with an outdoor play area that makes it feel like one. The terrace has slides, swings, a trampoline, climbing frames and jungle gyms in two sizes. Health-conscious menu, gorgeous setting near Khalifa Park, and the kind of space where you can actually linger over brunch while the kids tire themselves out. A solid winter morning pick.
Al Seef Village Mall, near Andalus Resort & Spa | Daily 8am–10pm
Wheeplay @ Al Maqta Mall
Under the radar but genuinely great. Wheeplay has softplay, trampolines, climbing walls, ball pits, a drift cart and a dedicated toddlers' area. More accessible price point than the mall giants, less chaotic than peak Yas Mall on a Friday. Good one for the Mussafah and Al Maqta crowd.
Ground Floor, Al Maqta Mall, Rabdan Area | Sun–Thu 10am–10pm, Fri–Sat 10am–midnight
Stouff Beirut @ World Trade Centre
Lebanese restaurant with a proper indoor soft play attached — ball pit, trampoline, jungle gym, slide and climbing frames, with child-friendly staff supervising. Useful when you want a proper meal and the kids need to move.
The Hub, World Trade Centre
Mussafah / Dalma Mall Area
Leo & Loona @ Dalma Mall
The slightly quieter sibling to the Yas Mall location. Same concept — dress-up rooms, supermarket role-play zones and character performances — but often less packed at weekends. Worth knowing about.
2nd Level, Dalma Mall | Sun–Thu 10am–10pm, Fri–Sat 10am–midnight
